The coat of arms is "is in a semicircular shield, gules a sextant or outlined sable and in chief dexter a bunch of grapes of the sort mali plavac (a renown red ["blue"] wine produced in the region).
The inhabitants of Orebić were, traditionally, captains of some fame, serving on many large ships. The surrounding valleys are famous for very high quality vines, probably the most well-know of them being the Dingac red wine.
