The coat of arms was designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka, and approved by the Ministry of Administration / Central State Office for Administration before 2006.
The coat of arms is described in Article 5 of the Municipality Statutes as in "Romanesque shield shape", azure a bend wavy argent between a bunch of grapes with a leaf and a fig also with a leaf all or.
The wavy bend refers to the place name, meaning roughly "(the region) around the lakes". The main products of the region are grapes and figs.
