The municipality of Koprivnički Ivanec (2,361 inhabitants in 2001, 1,286 in the village of Koprivnički Ivanec) is located just two km due north of Koprivnica.

The symbols of Koprivnički Ivanec are prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi Općine Koprivnički Ivanec (text), adopted on 5 February 2008 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 28 February 2008 in the County official gazette Službeni glasnik Koprivnicko-križevacke županije, No. 2.
The symbols are described in the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Koprivnički Ivanec, adopted on 10 July 2009 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 16 August 2009 in Službeni glasnik Koprivnicko-križevacke županije, No. 10. This is repeated in the current Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Koprivnički Ivanec, adopted on 20 March 2013 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 29 May 2013 in Službeni glasnik Koprivnicko-križevacke županije, No. 6 (text).
The symbols were approved by the Ministry of Administration on 28 September 2007.
The symbols were designed by Antonio Grgić, from the Pikant Marketing company, who kindly provided drawings from which the images shown on this page were made.
The flag is in proportions 1:2, blue with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

The coat of arms is "Azure a St. John the Baptist pouring water from a bowl over Jesus all argent issuant from the base".

The former symbols of Koprivnički Ivanec are described in the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Koprivnički Ivanec, adopted on 10 October 2001 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 11 October 2001 in Službeni glasnik Koprivnicko-križevacke županije, No. 12, although they were adopted earlier.
The description of the symbols was removed from the next version of the Statutes, issued in 2006.
The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company from Rijeka.
The flag is in proportions 1:2, blue with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.
The coat of arms is "Argent five flames gules". The five flames are said to represent the five villages forming the municipality, and to symbolize the Midsummernight's bonfires.
