The municipality of Novigrad Podravski (3,161 inhabitants in 2001, 2,183 in the village of Novigrad Podravski) is located about 15 km south-south-east of Koprivnica.

Flag of Novigrad Podravski

The symbols of Novigrad Podravski are described in the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Novigrad Podravski, adopted on 24 August 2001 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 28 August 2001 in the County official gazette Službeni glasnik Koprivnicko-križevacke županije, No. 10. This is repeated in the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Novigrad Podravski, adopted on 29 June 2009 and published on 16 August 2009 in Službeni glasnik Koprivnicko-križevacke županije, No. 10, and in the current Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Novigrad Podravski, adopted on 27 March 2013 and published on 20 May 2013 in Službeni glasnik Koprivnicko-križevacke županije, No. 5 (text).

The flag is in proportions 1:2, white with the coat of arms next to the hoist.
The flag shown in an exhibition held in Koprivnica in 2003 has the coat of arms in the middle. Therefore, the flag in actual use must have the coat of arms centered.

The coat of arms is described in Article 6 of the original Decision, as follows:

In a red square there is the white Baron Scholten's tower with embattlements, four rectangular windows and opened pointed doors, and on a firm base coloured green (the Podravina plains) the wavy stream of Komarnica.

In 1971, Novigrad Podravski adopted a coat of arms designed by the painter Josip Turković (Glas Podravine, 10 December 1971).

The symbols of Novigrad Podravski are originally prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi Općine Novigrad Podravski, adopted on 27 April 1995 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 19 May 1995 in Službeni glasnik Županije Koprivnicko-križevacke, No. 5.
Novigrad Podravski was "the first municipality in the County that has adopted its coat of arms and flag 'in accordance with the heraldic rules'". The symbols were designed by Draženka Jalšić (Glas Podravine, 14 July 1995
The symbols were approved by the Ministry of Administration on 13 July 1995, as reported by D. Ernečić.

The flag is described in Article 6 of the Decision, as follows:

On a white background (the colour of the Knight Templars) of the flag of the Municipality of Novigrad Podravski, in proportions 1:2, in the left top corner is the coat of arms of the Municipality of Novigrad Podravski.

Flag of the "Ivan vitez Trnski" Society

In 1995, the cultural "Ivan vitez Trnski" Society consecrated its flag, picturing the coat of arms of its namesake, the officer and poet Trnski. The streamers are ornamented with the embroidered coats of arms of the Trnski famiy and of Novigrad Podravski (Glas Podravine, 9 December 2005).
