Presentation of Kneževi Vinogradi

Kneževi Vinogradi is located some 30 km north of Osijek. Population is about 5,200 inhabitants in 9 villages, with 1,700 inhabitants in the main village of the same name.
Ethnically, about 40% inhabitants are Hungarians, some 35% Croats and just under 20% Serbs, with just under 2% Germans, too. Beside the Catholic and Orthodox denominations, here is one of main centres of Calvinists in Croatia, mostly Hungarians, although more than half of them are Catholics; several other reformist communities thrive there, most of the villages having at least two churches of various denomination. Relatively large by its area, the muniicpality covers vast, rich lowlands changing into marshes towards east as they approach the Danube, while the soft sloped hilly regions in the north produces one of the best wines in wider region, as the municipality's name indicates - literally meaning "Duke's Vineyards" (Hungarian, Herczegszöllös).

The coat of arms is "Vert three bunches of grapes or with slip conjoined on a tun affronty proper and in chief a wheat ear fesswise".
The grapes and the barrel refer to the name of the muniicpality and the wheat ear depicts the other most important product of the region. The green background, as well as the yellow field of the flag, represent the agricultural resources of the municipality.
