Flag of Pakrac

The symbols of Pakrac are prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi Grada Pakraca - pročišćeni tekst, adopted on 13 September 2001 by the Town Assembly and published in the Town official gazette Službeni glasnik grada Pakraca, No. 7. This is a consolidated Decision, referring an earlier Decision updating the former symbols of Prakac. The currently valid prescription of the symbols is Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi Grada Pakraca, adopted on 16 December 2009 and published on 17 December 2009 in Službeni glasnik Grada Pakraca, No. 7.

The flag is in proportions 1:2, blue with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

The coat of arms is "Azure between two bars wavy argent a marten passant proper".

The 1996 Decision (see below) refers to the historic coat of arms to be "based on the historicy town arms from 18th century, as was depicted on the ceiling of the chapel of Mother of God of Snow in 1925". This is, no doubt, reference to the chapel of Mother of God of Sljeme, built in 1932. The chapel was built to commemorate the millennium of the Croatian Kingdom, celebrated in 1925, but commemorative monuments were being erected several years afterwards. The chapel's ceiling beautifully depicts the arms of various Croatian towns.
The new wording of the Decision after amendment refers to a document issued by the Croatian State Archives, confirming that they hold in their collections a depiction of the arms of Pakrac, dated 1932. This is one of the latest granted arms in the region; later on the coats of arms were adopted locally.
The 2001 consolidated text provides only reference to the document by its official numbers. This is repeated in the 2009 Decision.

Former symbols of Pakrac

The first symbols of Pakrac were prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi općine Pakrac, adopted on 19 March 1996 by the Municipality Assembly and published in the Municipality official gazette Službeni glasnik Općine Pakrac, No. 3.
While the prescribed coat of arms was basically as it is today, the flag was prescribed as "light grey with the coat of arms in the centre". This flag was probably never produced.
