The symbols of Malinska-Dubašnica are prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi Općine Malinska-Dubašnica, adopted on 25 October 1997 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 28 November 1997 in the County official gazette Službene novine Primorsko-goranske županije, No. 29.
This was amended by Decision Odluka o izmjeni i dopuni Odluke o grbu i zastavi Općine Malinska-Dubašnica (text), adopted on 10 May 2010 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 21 May 2010 in Službene novine Primorsko-goranske županije, No. 19. The changes are procedural: the Mayor grants the use for commercial
purpose but the symbols cannot be granted to political parties.
The current Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Malinska-Dubašnica, adopted on 15 July 2009 by the Municipality Assembly and published the same day in Službene novine Primorsko-goranske županije, No. 26, describe the symbols in Article 4.
The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka.
The flag is in proportions 1:2, light blue with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

The coat of arms is "Azure an oak tree eradicated or".
