The coat of arms is "Azure a fleur-de-lis argent gorged with a crown or".
The crown, in the early Croatian style, must represent Duke Mislav (c. 835-845). In 839, Mislav signed a peace treaty with Venice in Podstrana, after an unsucessful attack by the Venetians of the Eastern Adriatic coast.
