Presentation of Pitomača

Pitomača is a large rural municipality with over 11,000 inhabitants, 6,000 of which live in the main village of the same name. It is situated at the north-western border of Slavonia, in Podravina region.
The village was formed in 1685 after the liberation of the region from the Turks.

Flag of Pitomača

The symbols of Pitomača are described in Article 5 of the consolidated Municipality Statutes Statut Opčine Pitomača, adopted in 2006 by the Municipality Assembly.
The symbols were approved by the Ministry of Administration on 13 July 1995.

The symbols were consecrated on 15 June 1995 (St. Vitus Day) in the local parish church (Glas Podravine, 23 June 1995.

The flag is in proportions 1:2, blue with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

The coat of arms is "Vert a fess argent and issuant from base a mount gules".
It was adopted in 1985 for the celebration of the tricentenary of the liberation of the place from the Turks.
