Špišić Bukovica is located less than 7 km north-east of Virovitica, with about 5,000 inhabitants, 1,800 of which live in the main village of the same name.

The symbols of Špišić Bukovica are prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi mjesta i Općine Špišić Bukovica, adopted in 2008 and published in the Municipality official gazette Službeni vjesnik Općina Špišić Bukovica, No. 5.
This was amended by Decision Odluka o izmjeni i dopuni Odluke o grbu i zastavi Općine Špišić Bukovica, published on 3 February 2010 in Službeni vjesnik Općina Špišić Bukovica, No. 1. (text).

Coat of arms of Špišić Bukovica - Image by Željko Heimer, 2 December 2009
The coat of arms (municipal website) is "Azure a wood pile of seven logs proper inflamed gules in a pile inverted argent".
It refers to the feast of St. John the Baptist when Midsummer bonfires are lit traditionally in Špišić Bukovica, today also being the Day of the Municipality. Seven logs, I presume, stand for the seven villages of the municipality.

Former flag and arms of Čađavica - Images by Željko Heimer, 17 April 2005
The former flags were adopted in the 1990s and not approved by the Ministry of Administration. The flag was brought to the County Assembly Hall but not removed later.
The coat of arms is an overcrowded, quasi-heraldic design. The program of the 2008 Municipality Day celebrations still showed it.
