The house flag of Splitska plovidba, as explained by Mrs. Gordana Tudor, Curator of the Split Maritime Museum, is a white rectangular flag with two thin horizontal stripes running along the middle of it, the lower stripe being pale blue and the upper stripe dark blue. The upper stripe forms a "wave", a circular protrusion next to the hoist encircling two red squares. The flag is c. 30 x 60 cm in size.
The Museum also has a table flag, of similar design, triangular, however, with some differences. The "lower" stripe is here silver (gray), the "curl" is separated from the rest of the stripe running from the fly to the hoist (similarly as it is divided from "entering" back into the stripe), and along the top (the base of the triangle) it includes the italic dark blue inscription "SPLITSKA PLOVIDBA d.d." fimbriated white where it crosses the stripes.

The company was established in 1949 as Oblasno brodarsko poduzeće (Regional shipping company) "Split" with 30 wooden ships, renamed in 1951 Obalna plovidba (Coastal shipping), and finally in 1981 Splitska plovidba. The company operated then 9 cargo ships in international and coastal shipping.
The relation between this company and the today's company of the same name is not known.
The house flag of Splitska plovidba, as shown by Isaić [isa01], is blue with a red five-pointed star within a white ring.
