Sződliget is a village in Pest County in Hungary near to Town
of Vác (5 km south) on the left bank
of the River Danube. The village has got 3.887 inhabitants (1990
census), nearly all of them are Hungarians. Neighbouring
settlements are: Vác and Göd towns, Pócsmegyer and Sződ villages. The settlement was
founded in 1950 from the territory of Sződ village. The
settlement is a summer resort.
About the coat of arms, I think the blue stripe relates to the
Danube. Maybe the rosette shield relates to the Arpad Dinasty.
Date of adoption: 26 June 2000 by the No.7/2000 Resolution of the
Community of Sződliget Village.
The images of the flags are not exactly correct since the
'Réde-style' inscription 'SZŐDLIGET' under the shield is
missing.
