Overview

Békás is a small village in Veszprém County in Hungary near to Town of Pápa (13 km to north-west) on the Little Hungarian Plains. The village has got 251 inhabitants (1990 census) all of them are Hungarians.
On the flag there is the Coat of Arms. The flag is white with red and green lines and a gold edge. Ratio of the flag: 2:3.

The gold laurel wreath with the silver sword, which was the symbol on the cap of the Hungarian soldiers in 1848-49 (war of independence), relates to the celebrity of the village, who was an soldier of the Hungarian Army in 1848. The gold crucifix relates to the Christian settlers of the village, The deer-head with crown was the shield of a noble family of the village, and in the rosette shield there is a picture of an old seal of the village. Under the shield is the name of the village.
