Here is a snap of a photo from the cover of "In Black & White" a history of rowing in Dublin University, Trinity College (Ireland) by Raymond Blake. It contains a picture of the DUBC (Dublin University Boat Club, trinity college - founded 1836 originally Pembroke then amalgamated with DURC - rowing - then split into DURC and DUBC before re-amalgamating in 1898 as DUBC) burgee / pennant / ensign on the bow of the rowing boat. It's a photo from Henley in 1982 v Yale. It's colours are black and white. Whether there was any Pembroke blue (royal blue) in it as in the club tie (a thin blue line between black and white stripes) I don't know, but I doubt it. Whether there was a royal blue shield containing the arms of trinity college on it I'm unsure but it probably didn't. Also a new replacement club flag was ordered in 2008 to the original design. DUBC's flag was sourced from Flag Makers, Montague Lane, Dublin 2, makers of DUBC’s 2008 replacement club flag (arms of college on a royal blue shield imposed on a background of black and white chevrons.

As to whether the earlier clubs had different flags and burgees I'm unsure. Members of DUBC (Pembroke) went on to form the Royal St George Yacht Club (originally it also rowed).
