Industial Local Council Migdal Tefen (meaning Tefen Tower),
the second Israeli Industrial Local Council after Industrial Ramat Hovav is situated in
Western Galilee, south of Ma'alot and
Kefar Weradim.
During my visit of 18 September 2001 I saw the municipal flag,
emblem on national background. The
municipal emblem has not been published in the official gazette (Rashumot,
Yalkut HaPirsumim) and this
webpage shows a different emblem altogether.
The flag looked to me as the same size as the national
flag. I guess they produce them using unfinished national
flags so they are in the same proportions (8:11).

Tefen is named after the remains of Qala'at Tufniya - an
ancient fort. The origin of the name is unknown.
The industrial zone was initiated by the tycoon Steff Wertheimer
(as the nearby Kefar Weradim) and was founded in 1981. Currently
it serve 62 plants with 3,500 workers.
Side by side with the plants, you can find an open museum which
include: art gallery, statutes garden, vintage car museum and the
museum of German speaking Jewry.
The Local Council was founded in 1991.
The emblem reflect the vision of environment friendly industrial
zone which develop industry side by side with keeping the
environment and the ecological balance.
