Disclaimer

This is one of the villages in the Golan Heights, an area of Syria occupied by Israel since 1967 and unilaterally annexed in 1981. Under Israeli law and de facto, the Golan Heights are part of Israel. International law and the United Nations still recognize the Golan Heights as part of Syria.

Description

Mas'ade is situated in the Golan Heights, 3 Kms south of Majdal Shams. Established in the 19th century by people from Majdal Shams. Under Israeli control since 1967. Local Council since 1982. Pop: 3,100 (2003), all Druze.
Origing of the name is the Arabic word Sa'ada (Hapiness, Joy).
In my visit there were no flags at city hall and only flag seen at the village were the five-colors Druze flags.
Emblem at <www.cityindex.co.il> .
