Raj Palaniswamy published on 17 January 2011 a proposal of "flag for the
global Tamil community", aimed at representing "Indian Tamils, Sri Lankan
Tamils, Malaysian Tamils and Tamils of any country in the world".
The flag is vertically divided yellow-white, the yellow stripe larger and
charged with a black bow and arrow. The white stripe is charged with a white
fish outlined in black above a tiger proper.
The emblems are taken from the flags of the dynasties that ruled Tamils before
the British colonization: Cheras (bow and arrow), Cholas (tiger), and Pandyas
(fish).
