IAFC flag

The IAFC Flag consists of a blue flag proportioned 2:3. In the center of the flag is a stylized white seven-pointed star. Each point of the star represents the regions of the world where the sport is played: Australia (separate point for itself as honoring the country that started the sport, Rest of Oceania, Anglo-America, Latin America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. The star has the IAFC emblem placed in the center to represent the organization’s control of the sport worldwide. The shade of blue corresponds with the same color shade of the Australian Flag. The Seven-Pointed star is another reference to the Australian Flag.

The IAFC emblem consists of a blue shield, upon which a stylized football (of the type used in the sport) covered with a map of the world. Beneath the ball are the letters IAFC. The shades of red white and blue correspond with the shades used in the Australian Flag.

IAFC History

The IAFC was founded in 1995, at the conclusion of the Arafura Games, in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. The flag and emblem of the IAFC (International Australian Football Council) were both designed by myself, at the request of the IAFC Secretary, Mr. Brian Clarke.  The emblem was formally adopted by the IAFC in 1999, with the flag following suit a year later.
