Overview

AM (Alleanza Monarchica = Monarchist Alliance)

AM is the major monarchist party in Italy, founded in 1972 by the minor faction of the PDIUM, when the main faction united with the neofascist MSI. Although the monarchists had been moderately successful in the 1950s/1960s, nowadays they are of no significance whatsoever. Although getting its symbol ("Italia Reale") registered for the February 2013 elections, in the end AM did not contest these elections.

As far as I can see, AM is using two different symbols. The first shows a map of Italy with a royal crown superimposed, around the edges the party name, and in base the Savoy Knot, all on a white background. This symbol is used on light blue flags [1,2,3].
The second symbol is blue with a royal crown on a white five-pointed star, around the edges the yellow inscription "MONARCHICI UNITI" (United Monarchists). The respective flag is white with the symbol under the blue inscription "ALLEANZA MONARCHICA" [4,5,6,7,8]. Of course, the old national flag of royal times (in different versions) is also prominently displayed by the monarchists [3,6,7,8].
