The Gonfalone

This province has all white gonfalon with arms in center and
name.

It is presented along with the arms at <www.provincia.biella.it>.
The arms are: Per chevron, dexter, barruly of azure and or
(fourteen pieces), sinister, barruly of or and azure (fourteen
pieces); in base azure a bear in natural colours passant without
raising a paw and surmounted by a fess silver in its turn
surmounted by a mullet or". There is also a patricians(?)
crown within which are placed crossed branches of olive
(sinister) and oak (dexter).
The gonfanon was granted with the arms in 1996: White
field, richly decorated with gold embroidery and bearing the
above arms in the centre, and the name of the Province above it
in gold. Metal parts and cordons will be golden. The
vertical shaft is covered with white velvet, with golden balls
placed in a spiral. The arrowhead will contain the arms and the
stem engraved with its name. Cravat with ribbons in
the national colours, fringed in gold". The text: is
PROVINCIA DI BIELLA, and two laurel branches in
natural colours, tied together by a ribbon in the national
colours, below the arms.
