Tischlbong-Timau-Tischelwang-Tamau (in local
dialect-Italian-German-Frulian) is a germanophonic community
[part of comunà di Paluzza] on the border with Austria
(Carinthia- Kärnten). Located in Udine Province, Friuli-Venezia
Giulia Region and very small (~520 people).
Their dialect- Tischlbongarisch- belongs to the south-bavarian
family of dialects and its carinthian subgroup. The community
enjoys cultural and linguistic autonomy in the Italian Republic.
The flag, a horizontal bicolor of red over blue, was shown many
years ago in Jaume Ollé's "Flag Report" (then
"Bulletin") and appears on the photograph at: <www.timau.it> at
the bottom of the page.
