The town emblem was adopted on May 1st 1965 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a maroon town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized katakana  ヒラ Hira of Hiraizumi in a form of a flying bird. It represents a surge, a development, a welfare, an improvement, a reconciliation, a cooperation and a solidarity of the town.
