The town emblem was adopted on Jan 1st 2006 by Notice No 1 but there is no flag law. The beige flag has a green and a blue two color town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized H of Hirono. The green color stands for the highland, the blue color for the sea and the circle for a sunrise and an overflowing feeling of vitality. It represents a human contact, a harmony and a spiritually rich life.
