The city emblem was adopted on Mar 6th 2006 by Notice No 1 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a blue and a green two color city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized K of Kuji in a form of the sea and the mountains. It represents an uplifting feeling of the city which seeks for hopes,vigors and happiness into the future.

Yamagata Village / 山形村
