The city emblem and the flag were adopted on Jan 1st 2006 by Notice No 1. The white flag has a red city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized katakana ニノヘ Ninohe. The city emblem reminds us of a harmony with an abandunt nature and the people, the depth of the historic culture and the security. It represents a surge and a development of the vigorous and safe city. The flag proportion is 2: 3. The height of the emblem is 68/100 height of the flag
