The city emblem and the flag were adopted on Oct 1st 2005 by Notice No 1. The light blue flag has a blue, a green and an orange three color city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized hiragana に Ni of Nikaho. It represents an image of the people in abandunt natural circumstances who strongly bounds to the future and a dreamful, a rich and a vital city.
The flag proportion is 2:3. The length (not height) of the emblem is 4/9 of the length of the flag.

Kisakata Town / 象潟町

The flag of the former town of Kisakata was blue with mark. The town is now, from 2005, part of the city of Nikaho.
