The adoption date of the town emblem is unknown. The purple flag has a white town emblem in the center and the kanji name in white hirizontally at the bottom part. The town emblem is a stylized kanji 舟 Funa of Funagata. The diamond in a background symboizes underground resources and a prosperity of the town. It represents a reconciliation and a peace of the town.
