Kaminoyama city adopted its emblem in May 1955 by Notice No 39;
adoption date of flag : 10 January 1975
by Notice No 1 (page in Japanese).
Flag proportion: 2:3; colour of field: purplish blue.
Colour of emblem: white; diameter of emblem: 3/5 flag height; a stylized
kanji Kaminoyama 上山 in the shape of a crane.
Nozomi Kariyasu, 3 February 2006
The emblem has the kanji Kaminoyama 上 (above, up) 山 (mountain)
deformed to show a crane, from tourist city Kaminoyama's Tsuruhagi hot
springs. It also expresses the strength of a bud sprouting from a seed
split in two. The field colour is given according to JIS Z8721, I think as
hue 5PB brightness 2, saturation 12.
Jonathan Dixon, 11 May 2006
The flag of the city of Kaminoyama is already reported, but emblem is
slightly wrong so here is new flag of the city.
