The town emblem was adopted on Mar 16th 1965 and the flag was adopted on Oct 21st 1965 by Notice No 19. The green flag has a white town emblem in the center and the kanji name in white at the lower fly. The town emblem is a stylized hiragana ばんげ Bange of aizuBange. The larger circle symbolizes a conformity of the area, the smaller circle does a conformity of home which are organically bonded by a vertical line. It represents a wish for a development for tomorrow. The flag proportion is 2: 3. The official flag is green not white.
