The town emblem was adopted on Nov 13th 1968 by Notice No 39 and the flag was adopted on Sep 25th 1974 by Notice No 36. The blue flag has a white town emblem in the center. The town emblem is stylized hiragana はなわ Hanawa. The smaller circle symbolizes the future of the young and the larger circle does a reconciliation and a development. The flag prorotion is 2: 3. The length (not height) of the emblem is 30/75 of the length of the flag.
