The town emblem was adopted on Jan 12th 1966 by Ordinance No 1 and the flag was adopted on Oct 8th 1975 by Ordinance No 22. The maroon flag has a white town emblem towards hoist. The town emblem is a stylized katakana イシ Ishi of Ishikawa. It represents a soar, a development and a peace. The flag proportion is 2: 3. The length of the emblem is 30/75 of the length of the flag. The official flag must have the emblem towards hoist not in the center.
