The town emblem was adopted on Oct 10th 1965 by Notice No 23 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a blue town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized katakana カ Ka of Kawamata in a form of a flying bird. it represents a conformity of the people and a development of the town.
