The Flag

Shimogo town flag and emblem adopted: April 29 1980 (Notice No. 27)
flag proportion: 2:3
field: Japanese lavender (fuji iro)
emblem: white, a stylized hiragana Shimo しも; height of the emblem: 3/5 of flag height
Source: Shimogo website (page in Japanese)
Nozomi Kariyasu, 10 December 2005

The stylised hiragana shimo しも form a broken circle with two horizontal lines on the left, similar to the Euro sign. The emblem symbolises the citizen's harmony and unity, and the steady (progress ?) of the town's strength.
Jonathan Dixon, 31 January 2006

The flag of the town of Shimogo is already reported,  but I found darker purple flags.
