The town emblem and the flag were adopted on Mar 29th 1978 by Instructions No 1. The purple flag has a white town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized hiragana さ Sa of Sakai. The circle symbolizes a conformity and a solidarity. The flag proportion is 7:10. The length of the emblem is 4.2/10 of the length of the flag.
