The flag was adopted by notice No 22. The emblem was adopted 27 December 1956. It contains a stylised katakana ga in the centre, in the shape of an equilateral triangle, representing the three villages which combined to form Haga town. Around this is a stylised ha in the shape of a circle, representing a harmonious town, and it's harmonious/peaceful formation. The emblem represents the town's unlimited development/growth.
