The emblem on the flag was adopted on the same date (notice 29). It is a stylised kanji Ichi 市 (market) forming a circle and a dove, representing harmony, (and something to do with a motto - people of peace(?))

The town emblem and the flag were adopted on Nov 23rd 2003 by Notice No 29 and 32. The blue flag has a white town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized kanji 市 Ichi of Ichikai in a form of a pigeon and a circle. It represents a peace and the town’s motto a conformity of the people. The flag proportion is 2: 3. The height of the emblem is 3/5 of the height of the flag.
