The town emblem was adopted in 1988 but there is no flag law. The purple flag has a white town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized katakana クサツ Kusatsu. The rotary-style nine katakana サsymbolize an image of the town which is developing by a conformity and a cooperation of the town people. As a whole, it represents abandunt hot springs in the town.
