The town emblem and the flag were adopted on Mar 10th 2008 by Notice No 11
and 13. The white flag has a blue town emblem in the center. The town emblem is
a stylized hiragana み Mi of Minakami. It represents an image of the town which
has been grown in an abandunt nature such as fresh streams and hotsprings. The
flag proportion is 2:3. The height of the emblem is 3/5 of the flag height.

The former flag of the town of Minakami, before 2005, was blue with mark.

The flag of the former village of Niiharu was maroon with mark. The village
is now, from 2005, part of the town of Minakami.
