The town emblem was adopted on Jan 1st 1973 by Notice No 1 but there is no flag law. The purple flag has a white town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized kanji 中 Naka of Nakanojo. The kanji 中divided quarterly by white lines symbolizes the merger of the former four towns and village.
