The Flag

Numata city in Gunma adopted its flag on January 4 2002.

size of emblem is 2/5 of width
Stylized kanji Numa and Ta 沼田 which stands for development and harmony.
Nozomi Kariyasu, 19 November 2005

Flag adopted 1992 Notice No 1. The flag use the emblem adopted on 1 April 1965 (notice no 6 (in Japanese)). The logo is made up of a stylised kanji numa (swamp/pond) forming a circle. This circle, together with a cross in the middle, forms the kanji ta (rice paddy). The emblem symbolises harmonious human nature/kindness and the (balanced?) development/growth of the city.
Jonathan Dixon, 14 January 2006

The flag of the city of Numata is already reported, but I found two variants of purple flag.
