White coat of arms on dull purple field.
The coat of arms is composed of stylized Katakana character A (ア) and
RA (ラ) in a circle form and Kanji character KAWA 川 in the center. The
circle represents harmony.
Coat of arms adopted May 2 1950.
Flag unlegislated.

The flag of the City of Arakawa is
reported, but I found only green one, not purple. Does anybody know more about
it?

Tomislav discovered the fact.
The image of the purple flag was drawn with wrong information. I got a
confirmation from Arakawa Ward government today who have used green flag with a
white emblem from the beginning. The image of purple flag should be replaced by
Tomislav new image of a green flag.
