The city emblem was adopted on Sep 1st 2005 by Notice No 1 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a blue, a green, a white and an orange four color city emblem in the center. The blue color stands for Japan Sea, the green color for an abandunt nature, the white crescent for Mother Tainai River and the orange disc for a rising Sun. The triangle symbolizes three districts.
