The town emblem was adopted on May 1st 1954 by Notice No 20 but there is no flag law. The maroon flag has a white town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized kanji 立山 Tateyama. The circle symbolizes a concord of the administrative district and the three-sided pyramid does a crest of Mt.Tateyama. It represents an image of the town which is strongly developing to the fields.
