The city emblem was adopted on Feb 1st 2005 by Notice No 2 but there is no flag law. The white flag has an orange, a green and a blue three color city emblem in the center. The city emblem is three stylized hiragana の No of Nomi in a form of combined circles and a triangle. The orange color stands for a famous Japanese pottery Kutani ware, the green color for mountains and the blue color for a sea. It represents a gentle and a simple image of the city and a  development of the city which owns a wealthy of resources such as a nature, a history, a culture.
