The village emblem was adopted on Dec 20th 1966 by Instructions No 2 and the flag was adopted on Oct 1st 1977 by Notice No 10. The green flag has a white village emblem in the center. The village emblem is a stylized katakana マ Ma and kanji 川 Kawa. The circle symbolizes a concord and the letter 川 does Takase River, Chichi River and Ashima River. It represents an image of a peaceful village and a perpetual stream which is developing for the future with the villagers friendship and a solidarity. The flag proportion is 5:7.
