The village emblem was adopted on Sep 3rd 1968 by Notice No 23 and the flag was adopted on Nov 11th 1968 by Notice No 28. The green flag has a white village emblem in the center. The village emblem is a stylized katakana オ O of Otari which depicts a grand mountain and a fresh stream of rivers. The circle symbolizes the villagers concord, a solidarity and a cooperation and an image of the village making a leap for the future without limit. The white color stands for a snow and the cleanly village people and the green color for the nature and a hope for a development. The flag proportion is 2:3.
