The city emblem was adopted on May 10th 1959 but there is no flag law. The blue flag has a white city emblem in the center. The city emblem is four stylized katakana ホ Shio of Shiojiri. The circle symbolizes the citizen's solidarity and a peace. It represents a limitless development and a glory.
