The city emblem was adopted on Apr 1st 1954 by Notice No8 but there is no flag law. The blue flag has a white city emblem in the center. The city emblem is three stylized hiragana の No of Mino in a form of a turtleshell. It represents a story that Mino was once called Kameno = Turtle Plain because of the city center's shape.
