The city emblem was adopted on Dec 22nd 2006 by Notice No 157 but there is no
flag law. The white flag has a mauve color and green two color city emblem in
the center. The city emblem is an image of Izu Peninsula and snake shaped
Kanogawa River based on the abstracted Hojo House family crest ( three fish
scales ) when looking down at the city from the above. The mauve color stands
for its history and culture, the green for Tagata Plain.
