The City emblem was adopted on Apr 20th 1948 and the flag was adopted on Nov 10th 1980 by Notice No 104. The green flag has a white city emblem in the center. The city emblem is 10 stylized hiragana い I of Ito in a circle. It represents the citizen’s wish for abundant nature blessed with the sun, happy city life and peaceful city. The flag proportion is 7:10.
